Microsoft has just unveiled the Lumia 830, and already the company is calling it the world’s most affordable flagship smartphone. At 330 Euro, it certainly looks to live up to this title, although details about the specifications are very light. It will, however, be very hard to beat at that price point.
The rear camera is fitted with Carl Zeiss lens with OIS – a staple with flagship Lumia smartphones – although the improvements appear to be part of the software package. The Lumia 830 features something known as Rich Capture, which provides the option to adjust flash levels after the picture has been taken. It does this by using something known as a dynamic flash, which takes two pictures when flash is turned on. One of the pictures will be lit with flash, while the second will be shot without flash. Users can then use a slider to adjust the light level of the picture at any given time.
However, the rear camera on the Lumia 830 is only a 10MP shooter, despite the PureView name. Aside from that, it is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon processor and draws power from a 2220mAh battery.
It will also be shipping with the new Lumia Denim update and camera app.
Integrated wireless charging is also available in the Lumia 830, although you will need the proper wireless charging back cover to enable it. While the smartphone is available in Bright Green, Bright Orange, Stunning White, and Dark Grey, the removable back covers could probably mean more customization down the road.
The Lumia 830 will be shipping globally this month at a price of EUR330.
