HTC Malaysia has officially announced the arrival of the HTC One (E8) in the country. Offering a combination of high-end specs similar to the flagship One (M8) in a more affordable package, HTC is positioning itself pretty well in an increasingly competitive flagship environment with the new One (E8).

The HTC One (E8) has almost the same internal hardware as the premium One (M8): a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 2.5GHz quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM, 5-inch Super LCD 3 Full HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3, 16GB of internal storage with a microSD card slot that supports up to 128GB cards, 2600mAh lithium polymer battery, Android 4.4 KitKat with HTC Sense 6, BoomSound speakers and of course, LTE connectivity.

The only differences between the two HTC flagships are with the imaging hardware: the One (E8) ditches the 4MP UltraPixel rear camera in favour of a more traditional 13MP f/2.2 BSI sensor, while the front-facing shooter is a 5MP BSI unit – though it doesn’t offer a wide-angle lens.

In addition to the One (E8), HTC also announced that the Dot View Case will also be available for the more affordable flagship device. Available immediately at selected authorised retail outlets, the Dot View Case for the One (E8) is retailing at RM149.

Finally, the company has also announced a collaboration between HTC influencer Beatrice Looi, who will organise a series of workshops to customise your HTC device, as well as insights on how to make the most of the new Dot View Case.

The HTC One (E8) is now available for RM1699 via Storekini and other authorised retail outlets throughout the country.
