The rumoured successor to last year’s Galaxy S4 Zoom, which may be called the Galaxy K, has appeared in leaked images again. This time, we get to see slightly more of the device, with its reported 10x zoom lens popping out in full view. The images also reveal more about the device’s thickness.
Samsung is seemingly not ready to give up on the hybrid camera space, which it pioneered with the Galaxy Camera in 2012. Then, it was the first hybrid digital camera that was powered by Android – and it even had a SIM card slot. Last year, Samsung released a smartphone camera hybrid known as the Galaxy S4 Zoom, which packed a 16MP sensor with 10x zoom into the back of a Galaxy S4 Mini.
This rumoured Galaxy K seems to build on the S4 Zoom formula, and may even sport a similar 10x zoom lens. It is rumoured to be in a smaller body compared to the S4 Zoom, partly because Samsung has removed the bottom “palm grip” in the S4 Zoom. Its rumoured specs were also leaked out some weeks earlier, where the Galaxy K will reportedly pack an Exynos 5 Hexa six-core processor, 4.8-inch Super AMOLED display, and 2GB of RAM. The 16MP sensor is also said to be using Samsung’s new ISOCELL technology, which coupled with the telescopic lens could mean that the Galaxy K is one powerful shooter.
With Samsung already sending out invites for an event themed “Kapture the Moment“, all will definitely be revealed this coming Tuesday.
