Being one of the flagship device under Samsung’s Galaxy series, it is almost a no-brainer that the Samsung Galaxy S5 need to be packed with a lot of firepower. Hence, Samsung has equipped it with the top of the line 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor (there’s also another variant with 2.1GHz Samsung Exynos octa-corner processor) which operates hand in hand with a humongous amount of RAM at 2GB.
So, how does that translates in terms of benchmark scores? Well, here’s the answer.
As shown above, the results came from PhoneArena’s team who has loaded a number of popular Android benchmark app on Samsung Galaxy S5 that was on display at MWC 2014. In general, these are the benchmark scores that the team managed to achieve:
Quadrant: 23,468 points.
AnTuTu: 35,541 points
GFXBench T-Rex: 1,550 points, 27.7 fps.
GFXBench Manhattan: 724 points, 11.7 fps.
Basemark X: 23,501 points.
However, the display unit was apparently a prototype and it is not running the same software as those that will be loaded into the retail unit. The scores that Samsung Galaxy S5 managed to achieved are indeed pretty high but this shouldn’t be a surprise.
Of course, benchmark results is just part of the picture. User interface, cameras and other functionalities are equally important as well which users out there will be able to experience soon enough once the Galaxy S5 hits the market throughout the world starting from this April.
