Samsung has announced two new series of Android tablets at CES earlier today called the Galaxy NotePRO and the Galaxy TabPRO. As previously rumoured, the two new series also introduce a new 12.2-inch, 16:10 display with a resolution of 2560 x 1600. These tablets, which will run on Android 4.4 at launch, will also sport a new Android skin called Magazine UX.

The new tablet series signal Samsung’s attempt at becoming the undisputed leader in tablets. The Galaxy TabPRO comes in three screen sizes: 12.2, 10.1 and 8.4 inches, while the Galaxy NotePRO is currently only offered in a 12.2-inch variant. Interestingly, both the NotePRO 12.2 and TabPRO 12.2 are essentially the same in almost every way, with the only difference being the addition of an integrated S Pen.

Article continues after the jump.

Even more interesting is in the similarity in terms of hardware across all four tablets:

The four tablets also inherit the new design language first seen in the Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition, so there’ll be lots of faux leather, and faux-metallic strips on the sides.

In addition, the Magazine UI for the two 12.2-inch tablets also come with a unique Multi Window setting, allowing users to open four apps at a time in four separate, resizable windows. The two smaller tablets only feature layered pop-out windows.

And, as is the norm with recent Samsung devices, all four tablets will also come with plenty of free subscription-based downloadable content, including Bitcasa, Bloomberg Newsweek+, Blurb, Dropbox, NY Times, Sketchbook Pro and Evernote.

The Samsung Galaxy NotePRO 12.2, and the three Galaxy TabPRO tablets will ship worldwide from Q1 2014. Retail prices, however, are not yet disclosed.
