It looks like mobile version of the interface update for Gmail is now live, Google just released an update to its Gmail app for Android which should be available in the Play Store if not immediately, then maybe by these couple of days. The new version, v4.5, will feature the multiple tab interface found on the desktop Gmail, and some swiping action to get work done.
It’s not available over at our side yet though, but according to those who have already gotten it, for Android devices running on Android 4.1 and above, users can now reply, archive or delete emails from the notification area, without opening up the app at all. The new version also allows users to “Swipe down to refresh” their inbox.
The app will be different for those running on different versions of Android though, those on Android 4.0 and above will have a faster search, even when offline. If you don’t see it yet, be patient, Google should be rolling it out very soon.
