Exactly as what we reported last week, Microsoft Malaysia today has officially announced that their in-house Windows RT tablet – the Microsoft Surface RT – will be released in our market on Thursday, 25 April. The launch event has been scheduled to take place on the evening of the said day (no exact time was mentioned) at Publika, Kuala Lumpur.
While Microsoft has decided to keep the price a secret for now, the first 300 customers of Surface RT at the launch event will receive free gifts that is said to be worth at least RM 300. Immediately after the launch date, the tablet will be made available in three retail partners: Challenger Malaysia, Harvey Norman and Thunder Match.
Further information about the device will be made available at Surface’s Malaysian website which will be online on the launch day itself as well as Surface’s blog and Facebook page.
UPDATE (918PM): The event will kick off at 730PM according to event’s official listing at Facebook that Microsoft Malaysia published just moments ago.
