Finally, it looks like you no longer have to sign up for a specific iPhone plan to purchase the device from Maxis, the telco is now offering its 16GB iPhone 5 with SurfMore and TalkMore postpaid plans. Retailing at RM2,199, if you sign up for a 24 months contract under SurfMore75 at RM75/month, you can purchase the device at RM1,188. If you make calls and text frequently, you can sign up for the TalkMore78 plan along with 1GB mobile internet for RM126/month and you can purchase the iPhone 5 at RM1,088. The breakdown is as follows:
An advanced payment of RM1,000 will be charged and will be credited back over 5 months. This offer (valid till 28 February 2013) is targeted at users who port-in to Maxis however, existing Maxis postpaid customers with an active postpaid line registered before 1 January 2013 are eligible to sign up as well.
