Our email is without a doubt one of the most important and confidential services we have on the internet, on top of the usual things we send, we usually use our email for verification and password retrievals, and we tend to send quite a number of private and confidential stuffs. Starting today, Google is rolling out the ability for users to download all their Gmail and Google Calendar data so that, you know, you can back up and even move all your precious memories to another service.
The files will be stored into MBOX format and you can pick to save everything you have in your inbox or select to backup certain labels only. You can also download a single archive file for multiple products with a copy of your Gmail, Calendar, Google+, YouTube, Drive and other Google data. If you’re running out of space on your Google account, I think this is a great way to clear out some space to make way for new stuffs, just make sure that the MBOX file is properly saved into a secure space, or you have already created a backup mail account for all the older data.
You can now download you Calendar data starting today while the ability to download Gmail messages will be rolled out over the next month. Visit Google for more information.
