While there is no proper announcement by Acer Malaysia at the time being, it seems that Acer Iconia W4 tablet is pretty much confirmed for release into our market very soon. This fact came through the announcement of Acer Malaysia’s latest contest on their Facebook page few days ago.
Called Oh My Gold!, the contest apparently provides the opportunity for buyers of selected Acer products to win RM 25,000 worth of gold and the Iconia W4 is listed as one of such products. Furthermore, the 8-inch Windows 8.1 tablet which is powered by the new Bay Trail-based 1.33GHz Intel Atom Z3740 quad-core processor has appeared on the contest’s website and Acer Malaysia’s recent catalogue which listed it for RM 1,199 with 64GB internal memory and 2GB RAM.
Since there is a Microsoft Office logo on the catalogue listing, I assumed that the tablet is also pre-installed with the popular productivity software suite as per Acer’s global announcement last month. In addition to that, Acer Malaysia have also mentioned the tablet is already scheduled for December release in this particular reply to a question by a customer on their Facebook page.
However, the device somehow has yet to appear on Acer Malaysia’s official website at the time being. We’ll keep you updated once we receive further updates from the company, so stay tuned for that soon.
