Just weeks after announcing a global $100 price cut for its Surface RT tablet, Microsoft is doing the same with its Surface Pro. From now until August 29, those in the US, Canada, China, Hong Kong and Taiwan will be able to purchase the high performance tablet at a $100 discount starting from today until August 29. Unfortunately, the discount will only apply for the five countries listed above – which means that the Surface Pro in Malaysia will still retail from Rm2749.
While the discount applies only to the five countries listed above, the short term discount – as well as the $100 markdown for the Surface RT – could very well be an indication of a refreshed Surface RT and Pro. The Verge reports that Microsoft has been testing Surface devices running on Qualcomm’s powerful Snapdragon 800 processor, so it could very well be a matter of time before the new devices…Surface.
