Just last month, Samsung confirmed with us that its 2016 smart TV lineup will be available in Malaysia by the end of May. True to its words, the Samsung 65KS9000 SUHD TV and 55KU6000 UHD TV will be available for pre-order tomorrow. To sweeten the deal, Samsung is also throwing several freebies to those who place their pre-order early, including a Samsung Galaxy S7 edge and a RM5,000 travel voucher.
The higher-end HDR-enabled TV of the two is definitely the 65-inch KS9000 curved SUHD TV, which retails at RM21,999. It features a 4K panel with Samsung’s latest quantum dot technology, which is claimed to be optimised for viewing in both dark and well-lit rooms. Samsung also said that its SUHD TVs have a peak brightness of 1,000 nits; the company mentioned it is the only manufacturer that has managed to do this.
Other than that, there is also the much more affordable 55-inch KU6000 UHD TV. While it is not a curved TV, it is still a HDR-enabled smart TV with a 4K panel and a RM5,499 price tag in Malaysia. Of course, as the more affordable TV of the two, the KU6000 does not feature Samsung’s quantum dot technology.
According to Samsung Malaysia, the first 10 customers who place their pre-order of the KS9000 will receive a Galaxy S7 edge and a RM5,000 travel voucher for free. As for the KU6000, the promotion is extended to the first 200 customers instead, although they will only receive the S7 edge for free – it’s still a very good offer nonetheless.
Samsung Malaysia mentioned that this is the first time it is offering such an offer for its latest range of smart TVs in Malaysia.
