Update: Unleash the Phones even managed to get a full specs sheet for the Lumia 1020. According to their source, the Lumia 1020 will be powered by a dual-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon processor (of unknown variant), 32GB storage, 4.5in 1280 x 768 ClearBlack AMOLED display, 1.2MP wide-angle front facing camera, and a 2000mAh battery. Wireless charging is supported via a snap-on cover. There’s also the Rich Recording tech with dual mics, and “comes with the only fully integrated and true offline Global maps experience from the HERE location suite.”
With its press event less than six hours away, the new Nokia Lumia flagship device has been unveiled by The Verge. To be officially known as the Lumia 1020, the previously-codenamed Nokia EOS smartphone packs a substantial 41MP PureView sensor into a body that is visually similar to 2012’s Lumia 920.
The Lumia 1020 will pack a 4.5-inch AMOLED screen and 2GB of RAM; the processor for now remains unknown. The focus here, of course, is at the back: the 41MP f2.2 sensor with lenses made by Zeiss is accompanied by a Xenon flash as well as the Optical Image Stabilisation system first seen in the Lumia 920. Confirming previous leaks, the Lumia 1020 will also feature a new Pro Cam app, which enables access to an extensive array of camera settings, such as shutter speed, focus, and ISO among others. The front-facing camera will also be upgraded to a wide-angle variant.
On top of that, Vizileaks, who first appeared some months back, began showing off more about the Lumia 1020, such as the Dual Capture mode, which unlike Samsung’s Dual Shot, captures both a standard and high-resolution image simultaneously, before saving them in separate files. Vizileaks even uploaded some camera samples of the Dual Capture mode in action.
Nokia will also reportedly introduce a Camera Grip accessory, which adds an extra battery pack, USB port, as well as tripod mount support and a two-stage shutter button.
