UPDATE: The Lenovo Ideapad U310 and U410 have local prices now! U310 (Core i3): RM1,999 U310(Core i5) RM2,599 / U410 starts at RM2,699. Both will be available in July, with the i5 U310 in the middle of June

Ahead of the local announcement and launch in KL tomorrow, Lowyat.NET was fortunate enough to be flown down to Singapore to have a look at Lenovo’s newest Ultrabooks, the IdeaPad U310 and U410. I’ve always been a fan of the very unique design of the Lenovo Y series and subsequently the U300 and U400 and for me it is the perfect shape and form factor for an ultrabook. While it’s not as thin as say a MBA or Zenbook, it will also not feel like I’m going to snap it in half with my big brutish fists.

Koh Kong Meng, Regional General Manager, Lenovo ASEAN, said: “Lenovo Ultrabooks are a game changer. The introduction of the IdeaPad U310 and U410 today marks the milestone where Ultrabooks become mainstream. We are the company that can offer the widest range of Ultrabooks, from entry level up to premium, from consumers to corporate, to suit the different needs of our customers. Never before have we been able to package so many smart advancements in style, design and user experience together at once, and most importantly, at an affordable price. We simply make great ‘Do Machines’ that power great companies, great individuals and great ideas.”

Hit the jump for more about the new U310 and U410!

Sitting at 13.3Inches for the U310 and 14inches for the U410, the new ultrabooks are perfect for any mobile needs at 18mm & 21mm thick and weighing in at 1.7kg and 1.8kg respectively and boast a 7-9 hour battery life which is no mean feat. The laptops are powered by the new 3rd Generation Intel Ivy Bridge Core i5 processor, 4GB DDR3 memory and both boast a 32GB SSD Cache and 500GB & 700GB Hard Drive space respectively. The U310 features Intel GMA 3000 HD Graphics while the U410 has an NVIDIA GeForce 610M 1GB graphics and both will support the Intel Wireless Display technology. Setting themselves apart from the monochrome madness that is the ultrabook world, Lenovo have decided to offer the U310 and U410 in a variety of different colors like Sapphire Blue, Aqua Blue, Cherry Blossom, Graphite Gray, Ruby read and Spearmint.

Currently there is no local price as we are posting this ahead of the Malaysian announcement, but for the Singapore prices, the U310 will go for SG$1,499 and the U410 will go for SG$1,599. In line with Microsoft’s earlier announcement, Lenovo will also be offering a Windows 8 Upgrade program where customers can upgrade to the Microsoft Windows 8 Pro Edition for systems purchased with Win 7 Home Basic and above between 2nd June to 31 January 2013, for just SG$18.
