Here’s a quick heads up to Xiaomi Mi 3 owners in Malaysia: Xiaomi is now rolling out its latest MIUI 6 update to the smartphone, bringing with it some fancy new additions.
The update has begun rolling out to Malaysian Mi 3 users as early as yesterday, before more users received the OTA update earlier today. The new update is a breath of fresh air to Mi 3 users, as it introduces the new MIUI 6 user interface (as well as the new software’s features) onto Xiaomi’s 2013 flagship smartphone. Among these features are the one-handed mode gesture which was introduced in the new Mi Note.
On top of that, battery life on the Mi 3 running MIUI 6 also appears to have improved. Some users are experiencing noticeably slower battery drain, which isn’t always the case for older smartphones.
In any case, the general response from Mi 3 owners about the new update has been pretty positive so far. If you haven’t received an OTA update notification, do check for them manually via Settings – About Phone – Check for updates.
