An analyst has confirmed what many have known for some time: Apple’s products inspire amazing customer loyalty. Toni Sacconaghi, an analyst with Bernstein Research, conducted a survey among smartphone users of several platforms, such as Google’s Android, RIM’s BlackBerry, and Microsoft’s Windows Phone. In the survey, respondents from Europe and North America were asked if their next smartphone purchase will be using the same operating system.
The results were actually pretty interesting. A staggering 95% of iPhone users replied that they plan to “repurchase a new iPhone now” , while 85% of iPad owners would like to upgrade to a new one in the future. No such platform commands such brand loyalty, and is credit to the company. Fortune notes that while impressive, the results were not as impressive as what is known as the “high customer repurchase intention” that brands such as Nike commands.
On the other hand, 73% of the Android users surveyed intend to stay on the platform, while RIM manages to eke out 58% of customer loyalty even before their next gen operating system, BlackBerry 10, makes its bow at the end of this month. Things were less rosy for Microsoft’s Windows Phone, however, where a paltry 37% of its users intend to stick to the platform on their next smartphone purchase.

because IOS is just simple and nice to use, andriod got alot function, but for most of the people, they just need a simple life, they don’t want suffer in learning new staff. this is the concept of steve jobs, clean and simple.
How is the source Fortune.CNN when the picture is from The Verge
Android is just as simple and nice to use as iOS, and its open-platform means more apps. Unless you mean that kind of “simple”, which I would advise you to go back to Nokia 3310.
Not this FLYINGSPAGHETTIMONSTER again
LOL!!! If android is open-platform & means more apps,..where?
Smartphones are made to make life easier & more convenient..if simple means go back to 3310, then android users who no need the word “simple” should go back to computer?
What godhai said is true..
And 1 more important thing – Why do Android & their users ONLY COULD PROOF THEIR USE by bashing other ios? they cant stand up without a “handle”?
The statistics of this study are questionable…do we know how many bought their earlier iPhone because of the branding hype? If these phanbois are already swayed by blind adulation, of course 95% would continue to be influenced in same way. Once an iSheep, always an iSheep.
Android users are more level-headed; we will not just follow the bleating masses but are open to try out other devices/platforms before making an informed choice.
Eventhough i dont prefer / use / like Apple products, I still concur with what godjai said. you can pick-up and go with an iphone, but to make androids ‘pick-up and go’ you still need some minor tweaks here and there to make it truly usable. one example, when u start up the iphone, all your apps are on the screen without the need to go into an app drawer to choose. Yes, you can say that an android could do that, but you have to do it manually and put your apps on the home screen pages.
Another example is about the fragmentation of devices. The apple has the same (boring) interfaces all across their models, which make switching from an iphone 3GS to and iphone 5 less unfamiliar compared to switching from say a Froyo era device to a JB era device.
From what i see its not that iOS is ‘simpler’ than android, but the ease and straight forward operation of the iOS is the main selling point and the reason less tech savvy people (which make up the bulk of the people in this world) come back to Apple, IMHO, and that makes me respect Apple for conjuring a closed eco-system based OS, but still manage to keep such a loyal following.
@Trumanwithalotphone
I don’t think you have used Android before. Just browse through Google Play store and you’ll see.
I not insulting anyone who use Apple products, but saying people choose iOS because of its simplicity it’s just stupid when other phones/tablets are just as easy to use. If you really want simpler than that then Nokia 3310 is for you, no doubt.
And I don’t see smartphones made my life any easier, just busier.
LOL you must be some dumb piece of crap… i can conclude that by judging from ” android has more app than ios ” , get your fact right . and yes indeed a good smart phone can make our life easier , remember how you have to go online using computer just to book a ticket ? now i can book it through my phone and i can just scan it as a ticket for entrance . I truly believe that one day everything will be put into a smart phone and you dont even need to bring your wallet or ID card . So , it still doesnt make your life easier ?
Dude…branding and marketing is everywhere…a million people bought a galaxy phone because their neighbors have one. isheep or not…insults makes you feel cheap just like cheap plastic. like what you like for your own reason not because a million people bought one.
