These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User", "you", or "your") and Lowyat MSC Sdn Bhd ("Company", "we", "us", or "our"), governing your access to and use of the Lowyat.NET website, mobile applications, forums, and all related services (collectively, the "Service").
By accessing or using the Service in any way — including browsing, registering an account, posting content, or using any feature — you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference.
If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent and warrant that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms, and references to "you" include that organisation.
Lowyat.NET is Malaysia's leading technology media platform, providing technology news, product reviews, buying guides, editorial commentary, and one of Southeast Asia's most active consumer technology forums.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice. We shall not be liable to you or to any third party for any such modification, suspension, or discontinuation.
Certain features of the Service, including participation in the forum, require you to register for an account. When you register, you agree to:
Provide accurate information. You must provide truthful, accurate, and complete information when creating your account and keep this information up to date. You may not impersonate any person or entity, or use a username that is offensive, vulgar, or that infringes on any third party's rights.
Protect your account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately at support@lowyat.net if you suspect any unauthorised use of your account.
Age requirements. You must be at least 13 years of age to register for an account. By registering, you confirm that you meet this requirement. Users under 18 should have parental or guardian consent.
One account per person. You may not create multiple accounts or transfer your account to another person without our prior written consent.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time if we determine, in our sole discretion, that you have violated these Terms or our Community Guidelines, or for any other reason.
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of others. The following conduct is strictly prohibited:
Violations of these rules may result in the immediate removal of your content, suspension or permanent termination of your account, and where applicable, referral to the relevant authorities. We cooperate fully with law enforcement in Malaysia and internationally.
The Service may allow you to post, upload, submit, or share content including text, images, links, and other materials ("User Content"). You retain ownership of any intellectual property rights in User Content that you create and submit.
Licence to Lowyat.NET. By submitting User Content to the Service, you grant Lowyat Media Group a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable, and transferable licence to use, reproduce, distribute, prepare derivative works of, display, and perform that User Content in connection with the Service and our business operations, including for promotional purposes.
Your responsibility. You are solely responsible for the User Content you post. You represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary rights to post the User Content, that it does not violate these Terms or any applicable law, and that it does not infringe the rights of any third party.
No endorsement. User Content posted on the forum or elsewhere on the Service reflects the views of individual users and does not represent the views or editorial positions of Lowyat.NET or Lowyat Media Group.
Moderation. We reserve the right, but have no obligation, to monitor, edit, or remove any User Content at any time and for any reason, including content that we determine in our sole discretion violates these Terms or our Community Guidelines. We are not liable for any failure to remove content that violates these Terms.
All editorial content, design, graphics, code, trademarks, logos, and other materials on Lowyat.NET that are not User Content are the property of Lowyat Media Group or our licensors and are protected by Malaysian and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
Limited licence. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Service for your personal, non-commercial purposes. This licence does not permit you to reproduce, modify, distribute, sell, sublicense, or create derivative works of our content without our prior written consent.
Prohibited uses. You may not reproduce, republish, or redistribute any editorial content from Lowyat.NET — in whole or in substantial part — on any other website, publication, or platform without our express written permission. Brief excerpts with proper attribution and a link to the original article are permitted for fair use purposes.
Trademarks. The Lowyat.NET name, logo, and associated brand marks are registered trademarks or trademarks of Lowyat Media Group. You may not use our trademarks without our prior written consent.
The Service may contain links to third-party websites, applications, or services that are not owned or controlled by Lowyat Media Group. These links are provided for your convenience and informational purposes only.
We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services. We do not warrant the accuracy or reliability of any information on third-party sites. Your use of any third-party site is governed by that site's own terms and conditions.
The inclusion of a link on Lowyat.NET does not imply our endorsement of that site, its content, or any products or services offered on it.
The Service is supported by advertising. By using the Service, you agree that Lowyat.NET may display advertisements on the Service, including personalised advertisements based on your browsing behaviour and other data collected in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Service availability. We do not guarantee that the Service will be available at all times or that access will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may need to perform maintenance or updates that temporarily affect availability.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable Malaysian law, Lowyat Media Group and its directors, employees, partners, agents, and suppliers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including but not limited to loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses — arising out of or in connection with:
(a) your access to or use of, or inability to access or use, the Service; (b) any content obtained from or through the Service; (c) unauthorised access to or alteration of your transmissions or data; or (d) any other matter relating to the Service.
Our aggregate liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to the Service shall not exceed the greater of MYR 100 or the amount you paid us, if any, in the twelve months preceding the claim.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation or exclusion of liability for certain types of damages. If you are located in such a jurisdiction, some of the above limitations may not apply to you.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Lowyat Media Group and its officers, directors, employees, agents, and successors from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to:
(a) your use of the Service; (b) your User Content; (c) your violation of these Terms; (d) your violation of any applicable law or regulation; or (e) your infringement of any rights of a third party.
We reserve the right to assume the exclusive defence and control of any matter otherwise subject to indemnification by you, in which case you agree to cooperate fully with our defence of such claim.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Malaysia, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms, including any question regarding its existence, validity, or termination, shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia. You irrevocably consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be enforced to the maximum extent permissible, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will provide additional notice, which may include a notification on the website or an email to registered users.
Your continued use of the Service after any changes to these Terms constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the Service.
