Samsung And Xiaomi Take Jabs At iPhone 12’s Lack Of Power Charger

Apple announced the iPhone 12 series of devices, and their lack of a power charger in the box. Understandably, it’s not a move that’s welcomed by everyone. Naturally, its main competitor in the phone market, Samsung, takes a jab at this fact on Facebook.

Specifically, the Samsung Caribbean Facebook page made a post with text saying Galaxy devices still have chargers in the box. The post goes on to point other advantages that the Galaxy phones have over the iPhone 12.

That’s all well and good, but many still remember that the company did something similar back in the day. Specifically, back in 2016 when Apple announced the iPhone 7 without the 3.5mm audio jack. Samsung made similar jabs with a video to that effect, only to itself remove the thing from the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.

Not only has there been a precedent, but there have also been a report that the Korean tech giant is planning to do so. The report itself first showed up back in July. Granted, the report also states that those plans have not been finalised, and not all phones will lose their chargers. But the decision could affect phones released as early as next year.

Of course, Samsung is not the only one piling on Apple. Xiaomi too has a post on Twitter to that effect, featuring the Mi 10T Pro. Which is ironic and hypocritical, since the phone doesn’t come with headphones despite having a USB-C to 3.5mm adapter. At least, the unit we got for our hands on did not.
