Samsung Galaxy Note20 and Galaxy Note20 Ultra Are Now Official

You might have heard and seen plenty of things regarding this phone over the past few months but of course, nothing beats having the official information finally being released to the public. As teased by the company for so long, the time has finally come for the Samsung Galaxy Note20 series to make its official debut.

So, let’s cut to the chase. As per the Galaxy Note10 series, the Galaxy Note20 series also consisted of two devices which are equipped with two different display.

However, Samsung has dropped the “plus” moniker from Galaxy Note naming and has chosen to name the larger Galaxy Note20 model as the Galaxy Note20 Ultra. This particular model comes with a 6.9-inch Quad HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity-O display which also has 120Hz refresh rate and rounded screen edges.

In addition to a laser autofocus sensor, the Galaxy Note20 Ultra also features a set of three cameras on its back that includes a 12MP ultra-wide camera, 108MP wide-angle PDAF camera, and 12MP telephoto Space Zoom camera that provides up to 5x optical zoom as well as 50x Super Resolution Zoom. It is also equipped with a 4500mAh battery which is 5% larger than Galaxy Note10+.

Meanwhile, the standard Galaxy Note20 model comes with a 6.7-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED Plus Infinity-O display. Aside from the size differences, the standard model is also missing the rounded edges on its display.

The phone also comes with three rear cameras although the setup is slightly different from its Ultra twin. Instead of a 108MP main camera and 12MP telephoto camera, their places have been taken by a 12MP Super Speed Dual Pixel main camera and 64MP telephoto camera that has 3x hybrid optic zoom capability as well as 30x Super Resolution Zoom.

The non-Ultra Galaxy Note20 model is also equipped with a 4300mAh battery which seems like a direct response to critics that were not happy with Galaxy Note10’s 3500mAh battery. As for the selfie camera, both the standard Galaxy Note20 as well as the Galaxy Note20 Ultra rely on a 10MP dual-pixel camera.

Being the latest iteration of the Galaxy Note family, the S Pen stylus for Galaxy Note20 series has also been enhanced by Samsung. For example, the company stated that the latency of Galaxy Note20’s S Pen is almost 80-percent lower than Galaxy Note10 which allows it to offer almost true-to-life writing and drawing experience.

Samsung has also added and expanded the Air Actions feature on Galaxy Note20’s S Pen with more gestures than before. These new gestures which Samsung calls “Anywhere Actions” can be used on any apps and allows users to navigate through Galaxy Note20’s interface directly via S Pen.

In Malaysia, the Galaxy Note20 devices are powered by Samsung Exynos 990 which also powered the company’s other flagship family, the Galaxy S20 series. The standard Galaxy Note20 can be obtained in separate 4G and 5G version although both models still come with 8GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB internal storage.

The Galaxy Note20 Ultra also features 256GB internal storage but it will be equipped with more LPDDR5 RAM and 12GB. At the time this article is published, Samsung has yet to announced the release date and pricing for the Galaxy Note20 series in Malaysia but nevertheless, we’ll keep you updated once we received more information.
