The Made By Google 2025 event brings a selection of new products. While the Pixel 10 smartphones may be the stars of the show, not to be missed are the internet search giant’s new wearables. These include the Pixel Watch 4, as well as the Pixel Buds 2a.

To start off, the Pixel Watch 4 comes in 41mm and 45mm sizes, much like the last generation. The smartwatch sports a curved Actua 360 display with a peak brightness of 3,000 nits. According to Google, the screen is 50% brighter and has a larger active area due to the slimmed down bezels.

Aside from that, the watch comes with the Material 3 Expressive design language, which comes with new clock faces and fluid animations. Moreover, the device features 15% stronger haptics and an upgraded speaker. The entire package gets an IP68 rating, with a claimed water resistance of up to 50m.

As for the wearable’s health and fitness features, it gets improved sleep monitoring and temperature sensing. Additionally, Google has expanded the watch’s repertoire of exercise modes. Route tracking also gets an upgrade thanks to the new dual-frequency GPS. Another new feature is automatic workout detection, which uses AI to determine the wearer’s activity.

Of course, there are some new Gemini-powered features as well. Raise To Talk lets the user access the AI assistant by raising their wrist. Beyond that, there is the Smart Replies tool for responses tailored to the conversation. And finally, Google is introducing an AI health coach.

The Pixel Watch 4 also gets a 25% longer battery life compared to last year’s model. The smaller variant offers up to 30 hours of use, while the bigger version can last up to 40 hours. Of course, the battery saver mode bumps this up to two or three days depending on the size. Charging is also faster, thanks to the Quick Charge Dock. The watch reportedly takes only 15 minutes to go from empty to half-full.

Next, the Pixel Buds 2a are the company’s newest addition to its Pixel Buds family. The Pixel Buds 2a is the first in the A-Series to offer ANC with Silent Seal 1.5, thanks to the Tensor A1 chip. The earbuds feature a twist-to-adjust stabilizer and four eartips to ensure a comfortable fit. They also get an IP54 rating, with Google claiming that they are sweat-resistance.

As with the company’s other new devices, the buds come equipped with Gemini, allowing the wearer to perform tasks without a phone. To access the AI assistant, the user can simply say “Hey Google”, or assign press and hold gestures.

The Pixel Buds 2a offers up to seven hours of playback with ANC enabled, or a maximum of 20 hours with the charging case. With the feature turned off, this is extended to 10 hours and 27 hours respectively. Other features include support for Fast Pair and multipoint connectivity.

Both the Pixel Watch 4 and Pixel Buds 2a are available for pre-orders now. The Pixel Buds 2a comes in Hazel and Iris, and is priced at RM649. You will have to wait until 9 October to find the earbuds in stores, however.
