Synology confirmed that the PAS7700 will be arriving in Malaysia in the first quarter of next year. First unveiled at Computex 2025, the all-NVMe enterprise storage is designed to deliver high-speed storage with low latency, along with scalable storage solutions.
Specs-wise, the PAS7700 integrates two controllers, is able to house 48 NVMe SSDs within a 4U chassis, and has the ability to scale up to 1.65 Petabytes (PB) of raw capacity, with enough room for an additional seven expansion units. Further, its memory is upgradable to 2,048GB, and even supports high-speed 100GbE networking.
In terms of performance, the PAS7700 leverages an end-to-end NVMe design that allows it to achieve up to two million IOPS and 30GB/s sequential throughput at load. Additionally, the storage solution will also benefit from Synology’s ActiveProtect, a purpose-built backup appliance for enterprises and with capacities ranging from 8TB to 140TB, and delivers the usual suite of features – immutable backups, air-gap capabilities, and regulatory compliance support, the latter for auditing.
“Cyber resilience is now the top priority for IT leaders worldwide, essential for business continuity and enterprise competitiveness,” emphasised Thachawan Chinchanakarn. “Our portfolio demonstrates Synology’s commitment to delivering simple, scalable, and secure solutions that empower businesses to safeguard their most critical assets and thrive in the digital future.”
At the time of writing, Synology still isn’t providing a local price tag to the PAS7700. That said, the company won’t be selling it to the general consumer, with one representative telling us that they will liase with business partners that buy in bulk.
