Barring a few exceptions, Sony’s Xperia smartphones have gained a reputation for retaining the exact same exterior across various iterations. As a result, it was unexpected to discover that, according to a recent online leak, the company’s upcoming Xperia 10 VII mid-range model looks to have a completely new design for the first time after six generations.
However, the most interesting part is where the leak originated: a case maker on Amazon Japan. Featured in the images provided is the rear design of the Xperia 10 VII, which is shown to sport a horizontal camera arrangement rather than a vertical one.

To say that progress is marginal would be quite the understatement, but since it has been a good while since we’ve seen any changes at all, we’ll take it. However, the fact that this is a leak means that this news should be taken with a large grain of salt. According to a Japanese site, SumahoDigest, Amazon has listed several other cases for the Xperia 10 VII but still features a vertical camera arrangement. This may be a result of the design not being fully revealed as of yet, but the fact that this did go up hints that the reveal is just around the corner.
Following the halted sales of the Xperia 1 VII, the alleged details leaks of the Xperia 10 VII and now this, Sony’s smartphone lineup can’t seem to catch a break. Unfortunately for anyone but Sony, the specifications of this smartphone have yet to be revealed.
