The Mix Flip 2 and Pad 7S Pro are not the only products unveiled at the Xiaomi Human x Car x Home mega launch event in Beijing yesterday. Among the newly announced devices is the Xiaomi AI Glasses, which marks the brand’s entry into the smart eyewear market.

According to the company, the wearable device was explicitly designed to fit Asian facial contours. The right temple features a touch control area, and the frame is fitted with titanium alloy hinges for durability. The glasses can also be outfitted with prescription lenses.

The glasses weigh 40g and come equipped with a 12MP Sony IMX681 sensor for first-person video recordings, live broadcasts, and photos. Additionally, they feature dual speakers, as well as a five-microphone array with bone-conduction and wind-noise resistance.

The glasses are powered by a dual-chip system comprising a Snapdragon AR1 processor and a low-power chip that runs the company’s in-house Vela OS. The built-in Xiaomi AI system allows the glasses to perform tasks like object recognition, text translation, and calorie counting. Other highlights include the ability to scan QR codes for payments, and real-time translation.

Xiaomi AI GlassesAs for battery life, the company stated that the 263mAh battery offers 8.6 hours of usage on a single charge, with charging done via a USB-C port. The claimed battery life is notably twice as much as what is offered by competitors like Meta, which Xiaomi clearly intends on challenging with its new wearable.

Xiaomi AI GlassesThe Xiaomi AI Glasses come in Black, Brown, and Green, with three different versions. The standard model retails for CNY1,999 (~RM1,178). Meanwhile, the other two variants feature electrochromic lenses that change shade, with a monochrome and coloured option. The former is priced at CNY2,699 (~RM1,590), while the latter costs CNY2,999 (~RM1,767). At the moment, it is unclear whether the glasses will be released outside of China.
