Last-minute Nintendo Switch 2 buyers take note. It appears that some local retailers are offering the Malaysian sets of the second-gen hybrid console below the official retail price.

One of them is Impulse Gaming, which recently announced pricing details via its official HQ Facebook page. According to the post, the standalone Switch 2 is listed at RM2,249, while the Mario Kart World Bundle is RM2,449 – notably lower than the official prices of RM2,488 and RM2,688 respectively.

When contacted for clarification, Impulse did not provide a clear explanation for the reduced prices, but insisted that it is following official pricing. We then checked with one of Nintendo’s authorised distributors, who confirmed that no changes to the recommended retail prices have been made whatsoever for the Malaysian market.

While the discrepancy may raise eyebrows, it’s likely a special pre-order promotion. Impulse is, after all, contending with other retailers ahead of the Switch 2’s official launch on 3 July 2025. It is also worth noting that the store mentions that the prices are only valid for in-store and website purchases.

Besides Impulse, independent retailers Kyo’s Game Mart and YY99 Game Store are also offering below-official pricing. According to their Facebook posts, the former lists the standalone for RM2,300 and the Mario Kart World Bundle for RM2,500, whereas the latter at RM2,199 and RM2,399 respectively.

As of writing, other retailers continue to list both sets at the official pricing. Regardless of the price differences, all stores are offering their Nintendo Switch 2 sets with one-year local warranty and a free tempered glass screen protector.
