Alongside the 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe, Hyundai Motor Malaysia (HMY) also previewed the its new Tucson model. This 2025 iteration is a facelift version of the fourth-generation Tucson (NX4), which debuted back in the year 2020.
So, what sets the updated C-segment SUV apart? For starters, it features a sleek, angular radiator grille paired with discreet ‘Parametric Jewel’ daytime running lights. Compared to the pre-facelift version, the grille elements are now more widely spaced, while the DRLs have been reduced from four to three.
Additionally, the front bumper has been reprofiled with sharper lines, and the headlamp cutouts now follow a more angular design. Around the back, the full-width LED light bar connects the two vertical tail lamps, that features triangular “Parametric Jewel” patterns, enhancing the high-tech appearance.
Inside, the facelifted 2025 Hyundai Tucson receives a significant technology upgrade over its predecessor. The most noticeable change is the introduction of a Panoramic Curved Display, which houses twin 12.3-inch screens—one for the digital instrument cluster and another for the infotainment system.
Additionally, it has a 6.6-inch touch panel for air controls. Other changes include moving the gear selector to the steering column, dual wireless charging, ambient lighting, and a fingerprint authentication system.
The Hyundai Tucson is offered in three trims – Style, Prime, and Prestige. However, only the Prestige variant comes with a hybrid option, meanwhile the others come with an internal combustion engine (ICE).
For the Hybrid variant, it features a 1.6 HEV engine with an output of 235 PS and 367 Nm of torque. All this power is managed by a 6-speed automatic gearbox that distributes the power to all wheels of the car.
As for the ICE variants, it comes with a 2.0 MPi and 1.6 TGDi. While the first offers 156 PS and 192 Nm, the latter offers 180 PS and 265 Nm. It is managed by a 6-speed automatic and a 7-speed DCT gearbox respectively.
The Tucson also comes with Hyundai SmartSense, which is equipped with all the ADAS features. In terms of the pricing of the car, the automaker is yet again being silent about it. However, more information can be expected soon during the launch of the car.
