Few weeks ago Xpeng unveiled the second generation P7. Recently the core specs of the battery electric vehicle (BEV), was revealed when the new model applied for a sales license in China.
As previously reported, official images reveal that the car’s design carries subtle influences from the Polestar 5. Recent updates also confirm that the P7 features supercar-style scissor doors at the front. Other notable design elements include sleek LED lighting at both ends, a fastback silhouette with a sharply raked rear windscreen, retractable door handles, an active rear spoiler, and a choice of alloy wheels ranging from 20 to 21 inches.

The Xpeng P7 is a large sedan-coupé, measuring 5,017 mm in length, 1,970 mm in width, and 1,427 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,008 mm. The updated model also features approach and departure angles of 13 and 14 degrees, respectively. Details about the interior remain under wraps, as the automaker has yet to reveal further information.
In terms of the powertrain, The Xpeng P7 is being offered in single and double motor configuration and comes in three trims. The entry-level variant features a rear-wheel-drive setup powered by a single electric motor producing 270 kW (363 hp), delivering a top speed of 230 km/h. This version is equipped with an LFP battery sourced from Eve Energy, although its exact capacity has yet to be disclosed.
Stepping up to the mid-range long-range variant, it retains the same rear-wheel-drive motor as the base model but swaps in a ternary NMC battery from CALB. Again, while capacity remains unspecified, this version maintains the same 230 km/h top speed and offers a slightly lighter curb weight of 2,090 kg, compared to 2,125 kg for the entry-level model.
At the top of the range is the high-performance dual-motor all-wheel-drive variant. This version adds an asynchronous motor to the front axle, boosting the total system output to an impressive 437 kW (586 hp). Despite its significant power advantage, the top speed remains electronically limited to 230 km/h. It shares the same NMC battery as the mid-spec model, making it the most powerful yet mechanically restrained version in the current P7 lineup.

The AWD model has a curb weight ranging between 2,188 kg and 2,220 kg, suggesting the presence of multiple configurations within the top-spec lineup. Enhancing its performance credentials, this range-topping model is equipped with larger Brembo brakes and offers several optional carbon fibre components, including side mirror caps and various other trim pieces.
As mentioned before the Xpeng P7 will make its debut in China during Q3 of 2025. The pricing is expected to be around CNY300,000 (~RM177,870) and the EV is also confirmed for global markets.
