Maxis has announced the introduction of a new AI assistant for its business customers. Called Mia, and standing for Maxis Intelligent Assistant, the telco says that it “combines conversational AI with intelligent workflow automation to deliver seamless roaming service management for businesses”.
Described as “an innovative generative AI-powered concierge service” for its business customers, the “guided chatbot service” provides “24/7 instant roaming support, smart recommendations and personalised suggestions”. With its more conversational interaction, B2B customers will be able to get “a faster and more intuitive experience” as it accesses information to complete tasks related to their accounts.
According to Maxis, Mia is “powered by cutting-edge AWS technology”, as well as “built on Amazon Bedrock and featuring a leading large language model (LLM)”. The telco also says that it “will continue to expand Mia’s functionality and capabilities”, but stopped short of providing details on that front.
To reiterate though, Mia is introduced as the genAI-powered virtual assistant to its B2B customers. With that in mind, it shouldn’t be confused with MIRA, the which was first introduced back in 2019 and acts as a virtual employee at the Maxis Concept Store at The Gardens Mall.
Though to be fair, when MIRA was introduced its functionality was limited to serving as a bridge between you and a human staffer. On the other hand, it sounds like the intent for Mia is not need the involvement of staff when a customer navigates the Maxis Business Hub.
