We’ve seen signs of the OPPO A5 Pro getting a local launch since the start of the year, with an official teaser earlier this month as well. Now the device has officially been launched for the local market, confirming the specs for the device as well.
Slightly different compared to its listing for another market, the local model of the OPPO A5 Pro has a 6.7-inch HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate, 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage space. The battery is rated at 5,800 mAh, with support for 45W charging via USB-C. For its cameras, the OPPO A5 Pro has a 50MP main + 2MP monochrome combo at the back, with a 8MP front-facing shooter in a punch-hole cutout.
While it is an entry level device, OPPO advertises the A5 Pro as its durable option, complete with its IP69 rating. This means that it can take water jets of up to 80 degrees Celsius being sprayed directly at it without taking damage. Beyond that, it also has the MIL-STD 810H rating, with cushioning and shatter-resistant glass allowing it to survive a bit more abuse than the average phone.
In terms of variants, the OPPO A5 Pro doesn’t do multiple memory and storage configurations, but instead it gets different chipsets, which will dictate the presence of 5G connectivity. One is equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, which gives it 5G connectivity and a price of RM1,099. The other instead has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 1, doesn’t get 5G, but instead costs RM899. Launched alongside the A5 Pro models are the OPPO Enco Buds3 Pro, which was announced with a price of RM169.
