US President Donald Trump is reportedly in talks with four major American companies over the wholesale purchase of Chinese social media platform, TikTok. When asked if a deal on TikTok was coming soon, Trump confirmed the details with reporters onboard Air Force One. “It could.”
“We’re dealing with four different groups, and a lot of people want it…all four are good,” Trump said.

Earlier this year, TikTok experienced a very tumultuous start; it failed to meet its deadline of finding a buyer for the US portion of its business and was immediately blocked in the country. Then, just 14 hours later, the Trump administration restored its services, along with a pledge to keep it available, at least for the next 75 days.
Among the alleged four interested buyers is former Los Angeles Dodgers owner, Frank McCourt. Neither TikTok nor its parent company, ByteDance, have commented on Trump’s announcement. For that matter, how much is being offered for the social network is also unknown.
