Facebook seems to be experiencing a global glitching issue where some users are seeing comments from random strangers on celebrity pages. Specifically, this is also happening to the news feed of one of our writers, where the feed is bombarded by these posts instead of the usual content from friends and followed pages.

What has happened to my Facebook feed?! pic.twitter.com/0HRjzKnyB6

That being said, all these posts are coming from celebrity pages that the user’s account follows. We’re seeing random postings on the pages of Dwayne Johnson, Eminem, Jack Black, Alan Walker, Maroon 5, Taylor Swift, and even from the Linus Tech Tips page.

@facebook News Feed is now showing me random posts from people I don't know on Joe Biden's page. Not comments on his posts, but posts that they're posting on his page. I hope you can fix this. Thanks!

So far, it doesn’t seem to be affecting every Facebook user, but it’s instead happening to individuals at random. As of writing, the company has not yet issued a statement on this matter. Meta’s status dashboard also seems to indicate that the site is not experiencing any issues.

Update: Some users report experiencing the bug despite not following any pages. This means that it can affect personal accounts randomly even if you do not follow any celebrities.

Update 2: According to Downdetector, users started reporting issues with Facebook’s news feed since around 1:36PM. It has since amassed thousands of reports in the last few hours, with the feed making up 81% of the issues.

Update 3: A Meta spokesperson told TechCrunch that the company is aware of the bug and is working to fix it.
