Bowers And Wilkins Launch P15 And P17 True Wireless Stereo Earbuds

Bowers & Wilkins has officially jumped on to the True Wireless Stereo (TWS) bandwagon, releasing not one, but two in-ear headphones. These TWS earbuds are the P17 and the P15.

As you’ve undoubtedly guessed, the P17 is the high-end and premium variant of the two; the earbuds each house custom dual 9.2mm drivers that even come with their own amplifier. Moreover, these earbuds also support 24-bit Hi-Res audio, as well as Qualcomm’s aptX Adaptive technology. Oh, and they each have three microphones built into them, along with the brand’s own noise cancellation technology.

What makes the P17 earbuds interesting is their charging case; it comes with a 3.5mm input jack that basically allows you to plug in an external source that both predates and is devoid of Bluetooth connectivity, thus providing users with an avenue for a wireless listening experience. Technically, once connected, the audio from the source is streamed through the casing and directly to the earbuds via the aptX Low Latency codec. As for its battery life, the P17 is capable of four hours of continuous play on a single charge, while its charging case carries a further 16 hours.

Moving on to the P15, these earbuds are nearly identical to the P17 in design, but does ship out without certain features that are found in its sibling. For starters, it doesn’t support 24-bit audio, and it has one less 9.2mm driver than the P17. On top of that, it only supports the basic aptX codec, so don’t expect the same audio quality either.

Battery-wise, the P15 last a little longer than the P17 at 4.5 hours, and the carrying carries an additional 18 hours. Oh, and there is no 3.5mm input port either.

The Bowers & Wilkins P15 and P17 are already available globally, with a price of US$250 (~RM1030) and US$400 (~RM1648), respectively. At the time of writing, we still do not have local pricing.
