Huawei has announced that it will be adding two more new phones into its 5G offerings in Malaysia. This time around, they will come in the form of the nova 7 SE and nova 7 which the company originally launched in China back in April.

Interesting enough, Huawei claimed that these new nova 7 Series 5G phones will be the most affordable 5G devices in Malaysia once they arrive here. The company did not reveal their actual price tag though but did mention in its press note that these devices are going to be priced at “above RM 1,000”…yup.

As a comparison, the nova 7 SE 5G is currently priced in China from CNY 2399 (~RM 1,444) to CNY 2799 (~EM 1,684) while the higher-end nova 7 goes for CNY 2999 (~RM 1,805) to CNY 3399 (~RM 2,045). Hence, their pricing in our market should not be far off from those figures in order for Huawei to call them as the most affordable 5G phones in Malaysia.

Equipped with a 6.5-inch Full HD LTPS display, the nova 7 SE also carries Kirin 820 processor alongside a rear quad photography module which consisted of a 64MP main camera together with an 8MP ultra-wide, 2MP macro, and 2MP bokeh cameras. The phone also carries a 16MP selfie camera and 4000mAh battery that supports 40W SuperCharge technology which allows it to achieve 70% of its capacity in 30 minutes.

On another hand, the nova 7 features 6.53-inch FHD+ OLED display and Kirin 985 processor as well as the same 4000mAh battery with support for 40W SuperCharge technology. In terms of photography, Huawei also used 64MP main camera as well as 8MP ultra-wide and 2MP macros cameras for nova 7 but has also opted for an 8MP telephoto camera instead of a bokeh camera as per nova 7 SE.

The nova 7 also carries a higher resolution 32MP selfie camera and an on-screen fingerprint reader. As for memory and storage configuration, Huawei revealed that the Malaysian variant of nova 7 SE will feature 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage, but no such information is available for nova 7 at the moment.

In terms of availability, the new Huawei nova 7 Series 5G phones will be making its debut in Malaysia on 19 June 2020. We’ll keep you posted once we receive further updates regarding these phones especially their pricing in our market.
