In his daily media briefing today, Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Ismail Sabri Yaakob has announced that the new date for interstate travel will take place from 7 to 10 May 2020.
However, this interstate travel is still meant for those have been stranded in their hometown throughout the Movement Control Order (MCO) period and want to get back to the city especially now that the government is easing up the MCO implementation starting from 4 May onwards.
During the briefing, Minister Ismail stated that more in-depth details such as the travel schedule, regulations, and standard operating procedure, will be announced by Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) very soon. He also revealed that PDRM has received more than 500,000 applications for interstate travel up till yesterday.
With that, until more details are provided by PDRM, the interstate travel status is still hanging on thin air. If you been following the progress for the rollout of interstate travel permit, then you might noticed that the original travel date was from 1 to 3 May.
Additionally, we also expect PDRM to shed more light on whether the Gerak Malaysia app will still be in use for the interstate travel permit. So, stay tuned.
