Last year, Epic Games and Marvel gave Fortnite fans a chance to play as the Mad Titan, Thanos, as part of a tie-in to Avengers: Infinity Wars. This year, the video game developer and now budding rival to Steam is doing another movie-themed, Limited Time Mode (LTM) crossover event, in line with John Wick 3: Parabellum.
The new LTM is called Wick’s Bounty, and the goal of the game mode is to stay alive long enough, while you collect gold tokens – much like the gold coin used in the John Wick franchise – by eliminating bounty hunters within the game. Of course, like all special events and LTM games, there is understandably a catch to this game mode.
If you happen to be one of the top three token leaders in-game, the game mode automatically “places a bounty” on your head. In this case, it just means that your location will be shown on the map at all time. For other bounty hunters to hunt you down.
Of course, in conjunction with Wick’s Bounty there will also be a special set of challenges to complete and rewards to be earned. Rewards in-game include the Gold Token Back Bling, One Shot Glider, Boogeyman Wrap, and bonus XP throughout the duration of the event.
Additionally, Epic Games is also selling the John Wick set on its store. This includes the John Wick outfit, along with a sledgehammer, which Epic ironically refers to as a “Simply Sledge Pickaxe”.
