Xiaomi has announced a price reduction for the Redmi 5 phone on its online store at Lazada Malaysia. It was an interesting decision by the company given the fact that the phone was just released in our market early last month.
Nevertheless, this should be good news for those who looking to grab the phone which is the first device in the Redmi family to feature 18:9 display. However, the price reduction only applies to the variant with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage.
Originally priced at RM 679, the Redmi 5 3GB/32GB variant is now available for RM 599 and can be obtained in three different colorways: gold, black, and blue. However, the newly released lower-end variant of Redmi 5 which comes with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage is now missing from Xiaomi Malaysia’s Lazada catalog.
With only a difference of RM 100 between the two variants, we do recommend you to grab the model with the higher amount of memory and internal storage anyway.
