Western Digital just launched a slew of new products in Malaysia: the WD My Cloud Home, the SanDisk iXpand Base, and the impressive 400GB SanDisk Ultra microSDXC UHS-I card. Yes, it’s a very high capacity microSD card, and its price tag certainly reflects that.

Touted as a world’s first, the 400GB SanDisk Ultra microSD card is targeted at Android users that own smartphones with expandable storage. Interestingly, this card is also A1-rated: it can load apps faster on Android smartphones.

Naturally, the 400GB SanDisk Ultra is a Class 10 UHS-I card, and its read speed is rated at 100MB/s. Of course, the write speed is lower than this, though the exact speed is not specified.

Aside from the 400GB SanDisk Ultra microSD card, there’s also the new My Cloud Home. Essentially, it’s a personal storage device that connects directly to your WiFi router. It lets users back up and sync content wirelessly from various devices (phones, PC, Mac), which can then be accessed anywhere with an internet connection. There’s also the My Cloud Home Duo, which comes with two hard drives configured in RAID 1. Here’s the full price breakdown of these two products in Malaysia:

  • My Cloud Home 2TB (RM739)
  • My Cloud Home 3TB (RM839)
  • My Cloud Home 4TB (RM1,059)
  • My Cloud Home 6TB (RM1,459)
  • My Cloud Home 8TB (RM1,799)

  • My Cloud Home Duo 4TB (RM1,599)
  • My Cloud Home Duo 6TB (RM1,999)
  • My Cloud Home Duo 8TB (RM2,499)
  • My Cloud Home Duo 12TB (RM3,459)
  • My Cloud Home Duo 16TB (RM3,999)
  • My Cloud Home Duo 20TB (RM4,399)

Last but not least is the SanDisk iXpand Base, which is made for iPhone users. Not only does the iXpand Base support fast charging, it can also back up your photos, videos, and contacts seamlessly while your iPhone is charging. The iXpand Base is available in three capacities in Malaysia: 64GB (RM369), 128GB (RM529), and 256GB (RM899).

The My Cloud Home and iXpand Base are now available in Malaysia, but the 400GB SanDisk Ultra microSD card will only be sold here from December 2017 onwards. It comes with a 10-year limited warranty, and it retails at a whopping RM1,499.
