Samsung Galaxy J Pro Series (2017) Lands in Malaysia; Retail from RM699

If you’re in the market for an Android smartphone that won’t put too much dent in your wallet, Samsung’s new Galaxy J Pro Series (2017) may be worth considering. Officially available in Malaysia right now, the series is made up of three devices: the J3 Pro, J5 Pro, and the highest-end J7 Pro.

Out of the three, the J7 Pro is the most well-equipped – and costly – phone. It features a 5.5-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display, 1.6GHz octa-core processor paired with 3GB of RAM, 32GB of expandable storage, a 13MP f/1.7 rear camera, a 13MP f/1.9 front-facing camera, and a rather generous 3,600mAh battery.

A tier down is the Galaxy J5 Pro, which was actually already available in Malaysia last week. Nonetheless, the J5 Pro shares many of the J7 Pro’s hardware, but it comes with a smaller and lower resolution 5.2-inch 720p Super AMOLED display along with a smaller 3,000mAh battery.

Last but definitely not least is the most affordable device in the series, the J3 Pro. It’s equipped with a 5-inch 720p PLS TFT LCD display, a 1.4GHz quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage – expandable with a microSD card up to 256GB – 13MP rear and 5MP front-facing cameras, as well as a modest 2,400mAh battery.

The Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro retails at RM1,299 in Malaysia, while the J5 Pro and J3 Pro go for RM1,149 and RM699 respectively. From now until 30 September 2017, every purchase of these three devices will come with a complimentary one-year extended warranty as well as a one-year screen crack protection. More information on this promotion can be found here.
