Now that the MacBook lineup has been updated for 2017 – they’re also available in Malaysia already – it’s no surprise to see that last year’s MacBook Pro models are being discounted. In fact, certain model is going for RM500 less, although it’s not exactly a very…compelling offer.
Two models of the 2016 MacBook Pro are discounted on Switch (a local Apple reseller) right now: the 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Pro laptops. Naturally, both of these are the variants that come with Apple’s new Touch Bar; they also feature 256GB and 512GB of storage respectively.
Out of the two models, the 13-inch MacBook Pro receives the least amount of discount. Originally retailing at RM7,599, this MacBook now goes for RM7,499 – that’s only RM100 less. The 15-inch MacBook Pro, on the other hand, got a more generous discount: it’s listed at a whopping RM11,499, which is actually RM500 less than its original asking price.
While these new prices for the 2016 MacBook Pro with Touch Bar aren’t particularly compelling, it’s not a limited-time promotion. Rather, it’s a price revision from Switch.
