Brightstar Malaysia Reveals Its Mysterious Smartphone, the RM479 Avvio L660S

A couple of weeks back, Brightstar Malaysia – the official distributor of various devices in Malaysia – has teased a rather mysterious smartphone on its Facebook page which promises “specs you like at the price you love.” Well, the company has officially unveiled the device, and it is indeed the Avvio L660S.

When Brightstar Malaysia started teasing the device, we have suspected that the mysterious smartphone was the Avvio L660S; it was registered with SIRIM not too long ago last month. That being said, we had no information on the actual specifications of the L660S – until now, that is.

Powering the L660S is an unspecified 1GHz quad-core processor, which is paired with 1GB of RAM. The device also has a rather small 8GB internal storage, which is thankfully expandable with a microSD card up to 32GB. In the camera department, the L660S is equipped with a 13MP rear shooter – complemented with an LED flash – and a 5MP front-facing snapper. Rounding out the specifications of the smartphone are a 2,000mAh battery, LTE connectivity, and surprisingly, a 5-inch 720p IPS display.

Considering how most of the Avvio L660S specifications are rather entry-level, it’s good to see that it has an HD IPS display, which should look good enough for everyday usage. According to Brightstar Malaysia’s Facebook page, the L660S retails at RM479, which is quite an affordable price tag. It also comes with an 18-month warranty, which entitles customers a one-to-one exchange if anything were to go wrong with the device within the warranty period.

While the Avvio L660S is no flagship device, it may be ideal for first time smartphone users. If you’re keen to purchase the L660S, you can check for the full list of retailers here.
