Sapphire, a well-known graphics card manufacturer, has recently announced a new addition to its Nitro Gaming series, the Sapphire Nitro Radeon R9 Fury. According to Sapphire, its new flagship graphics card would be the fastest and quietest R9 Fury variant in the market. In addition to that, Sapphire mentioned that the Nitro Radeon R9 Fury brings plenty of features that gamers and PC enthusiasts will find appealing.

Sapphire has overhauled the standard Radeon R9 Fury by adding the widely regarded Tri-X cooler technology into the new Nitro R9 Fury. Sapphire claims that the Tri-X cooling solution is the most efficient cooling system it has ever manufactured. Besides that, Sapphire also has customised the R9 Fury’s PCB: it has redesigned the PCB to an 8-layer PCB along with a thick aluminum backplate in order to achieve efficient cooling.

In terms of power draw, Sapphire has interestingly included a switch for consumers to be able to choose from two different BIOS options. The standard BIOS setting that comes out of the box with the Nitro R9 Fury limits the graphics card power draw to 260W and a target temperature of 75-degree Celsius under load. The other BIOS option allows the Nitro R9 Fury to use up to 300W of power and is able to achieve a target temperature of 80-degree Celsius. In addition to that, the Nitro R9 Fury also comes with a core clock of 1050MHz, which makes it the fastest factory clocked variant of the R9 Fury in the market.

Interestingly, the Sapphire Nitro R9 Fury comes in two variants: a standard non-overclocked version and an overclocked one. According to Sapphire, the Nitro R9 Fury has been shipped and will be made available worldwide soon. Unfortunately, Sapphire hasn’t provided us with the official retail price of both variants of the Nitro R9 Fury in Malaysia, but according to sources, the standard version of the graphics card is expected to retail for US$539 (about RM2,350) while the overclock variant would be priced at US$549 (around RM2,400).

In light of introducing the Nitro R9 Fury, Sapphire has also announced a year-long promotion. Sapphire calls it the “Year of the Sapphire Nitro”. This means that throughout 2016, Sapphire fans – including those in Malaysia – can participate in giveaways and activities to stand a chance to win its Nitro series graphics cards. The promotion starts right now till the end of this year. More information regarding the Year of the Sapphire Nitro can be found here.
