With children today hooked on their smartphones and tablets, how do you get their attention back to normal toys we used to play when we were kids? Build an app for it of course. Hasbro recently introduced a new Play-Doh Touch app for iOS devices that can help bring your children’s Play-Doh creations to life, and use them to run and jump about in a virtual world.
Called the Play-Doh Touch, all you need to do is make something out of your Play-Doh, and scan it with the Play-Doh Touch. The app will automatically scan your creation, and bring them into the virtual world whereby your character will live. After that, you can bring the character around, jump up and down to collect orbs of lights.
With the launch of the Play-Doh Touch app, Hasbro also introduced a new Play-Doh Touch Shape to Life Studio set, which comes with character stampers, action stampers, cutters, tools, and Play-Doh compound. You don’t need the set of course, just encourage your children to make their own creations.
Sure, this app might cause children to spend too much on gadgets, but at least it motivates them to create their own virtual characters and shapes to customise their world.
Play-Doh Touch is available exclusively for iOS devices only. Hasbro says that it will be available around the world but at the time of writing, it’s not available at our Malaysian App Store. If you wish to try it out, all you need is an Apple ID tied to the U.S., and you’re good to go.
