Several Sharp smartphones are about to be launched in Malaysia very soon according to a press invite that we have received from Commtiva Technology, the company that is responsible for Sharp Mobile brand in Taiwan. While the press release didn’t reveal the name of these devices, a quick check on SIRIM’s database has provided some clues regarding their identities.

Registered under Commtiva Technology Sdn Bhd, one of them is registered as FS8001 which is the model name for Sharp M1 while the other device is FS8002 for Sharp Z2. According to the listing, they were approved by the certification body in early September and October respectively.

With a physical design that was apparently influenced by the Japanese market, the rear area of Sharp M1 features curved edges and is covered by Corning Gorilla Glass. Equipped with a 5.5-inch full HD LTPS display, the smartphone also comes with a 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6753 octa-core processor as well as 3GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage.

Other than that, the M1 is also equipped with 13-megapixels camera on both of its front and back. Pre-installed with Android 6.0, a 2,600 mAh battery completes the general hardware package of the smartphone.

As for Sharp Z2, it also features a 5.5-inch full HD LTPS display but it is powered by a 2.3GHz Mediatek Helio X20 MT6797 10-core processor. It also comes with more RAM than Sharp M1 at 4GB but has a smaller internal storage capacity of 32GB.

Together with a fingerprint scanner, the smartphone features a 16-megapixels on its back while selfie jobs is handled by the 8-megapixels camera on its front. With Android 6.0 as its operating system, the Z2 is equipped with a 3,000 mAh battery that can be charged to 50% in half an hour.

Meanwhile, we have also discovered the YouTube channel for Sharp Mobile Malaysia which confirms the information that we’ve mentioned above. Both product videos on the channel have also listed the official website for Sharp Mobile Malaysia although it is still not available for browsing at the time this article is published.

Despite all the information above, do stay tuned for the launch event on 1 November to know more regarding Commtiva Technology’s plan for Sharp Mobile devices here in Malaysia.
