Ahead of the year end holiday period, Lenovo has unveiled two power-packed smartphones – literally- for the Malaysian market. With battery capacities of 5,000mAh and 4,000mAh respectively, the new Vibe P1 and Vibe P1m smartphones will be available from today.

The Vibe P1 is Lenovo latest mid range device, offering a compelling mix of premium aluminium and glass construction with competitive hardware. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 1.5GHz octa core processor with 2GB of RAM, and features a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS display wit Gorilla Glass 3, and also 32GB of expandable storage. There’s a 13MP rear camera with PDAF focus technology and a 5MP front shooter with various beautification features.

But the standout feature on the 187g Vibe P1 is in the battery. With a massive 5,000mAh power pack, this is easily the smartphone with the largest battery capacity in Malaysia. The phone even has a physical power saver switch, which not only instantly extends battery life, but also the device’s On-The-Go Charging feature, allowing the device to charge other devices.

A first for Lenovo can also be seen in the Vibe P1, which sports a physical home button for the first time. The inclusion is for good reason too, as it holds a fingerprint sensor underneath. With this, Lenovo has managed to outdo its Chinese rival, Huawei, by offering an even cheaper smartphone with a fingerprint sensor.

Meanwhile, the Vibe P1m is the lower end variant of the Vibe P1. It’s powered by a Mediatek MT6735P 1.0GHz quad core processor with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage. On the front, the Vibe P1m sports a 5-inch 720p IPS display, while the imaging side is backed by an 8MP rear and 5MP front shooter.

Besides that, the 148g Vibe P1m is also “splash-proof”, with a nano coating technology covering the hardware. And of course, there’s the embedded 4,000mAh lithium polymer battery.

Both the Vibe P1 and Vibe P1m smartphones are 4G LTE devices, and are powered by Android 5.1 Lollipop. The Vibe P1 is available in Platinum and Graphite Grey colours, while the Vibe P1m will be offered in Onyx Black and Pearl White.

The Lenovo Vibe P1 is priced at RM1,199 while the Vibe P1m retails for RM649. Both devices are available from today in authorised retail outlets, while the Vibe P1m will be exclusively available on Lazada, before being available in retail stores from December 2015.
