Not just sticking to the top of the range flagship smartphone segment, Sony have announced the Xperia T2 Ultra; a phablet which is focused on emerging markets, packed to the brim with specs for entertainment on the go. Sporting a 6-inch 720 x 1280 TRILUMINOS display that extends to within 2.5mm of the phone’s edges, the T2 Ultra makes the most of available space and makes it a rather svelte device considering its size.
The T2 Ultra features a 13MP camera that is not quite the same as the Z family of devices, but in its class, the camera is pretty darn decent. Perhaps one of the things to consider is that even with a phone this size, it weighs in at around 171g, which is about the same as an Xperia Z1. The Xperia T2 Ultra is powered by a Quad Core 1.4GHz Snapdragon 400 Processor, has 1GB of RAM and packs a 3,000mAh Battery.
While the T2 Ultra won’t be the star of the show, it certainly is a good alternative option for the emerging markets that demand a larger screen device, for as small a price as possible.
No confirmed price details yet but we do know that it will come to our shores in April 2014.
