After months of testing, Microsoft has now released Internet Explorer 10 – the default browser for Windows 8 – to Windows 7 users. It brings along a slew of performance improvements over IE9, as well as added security enhancements. IE10 also draws less power than its predecessor, bringing improved battery life for mobile users.
Interestingly, unlike the Metro-style user interface on Windows 8’s IE10, IE10 on Windows 7 will look similar to IE9. Microsoft will roll out automatic updates to upgade Windows 7 Internet Explorer browsers to IE10 in stages. Those who prefer not to wait can download the browser in their native language here.
