PlayStation Home

Sony Computer Entertainment has just announced that they will stop publishing new contents for PlayStation Home – their virtual social world for PlayStation 3 – in Japan and Asian countries very soon. It will take place in Japan after September 2013 while the rest of Asia will see that happen after March 2014.

Sony didn’t mention any specific reason behind the move but since the company have also mentioned that they will continue to release new contents for PlayStation Home over at America and Europe markets, we think the reason is rather obvious.

All in all, this sure does sound like a death sentence to PlayStation Home in Japan and Asia to us…unless Sony have a much more bigger plan for it in the future. For now, hit on the Read More link below to see the full press release by SCE.

Malaysia, 30th August 2013 – Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. (SCEI) today announced that PlayStation®Home in Sony Computer Entertainment Japan Asia (SCEJA) will cease publishing new content after September 2013 for Japan and March 2014 for Asian countries and regions.

PlayStation®Home in Sony Computer Entertainment America and Sony Computer Entertainment Europe will continue to fully support their vibrant PlayStation®Home communities with full weekly publishes, new public spaces, virtual items, and platform features.
