Western Digital welcomed students’ back-to-school by sponsoring 46 children from Rumah Hope back-to-school necessities on 31st December 2007. Rumah Hope, is a shelter home run by volunteers that provides shelter, food, care and security for abused or abandoned children. WD Back to School event is an effort made by Western Digital in Malaysia to contribute to the society. School uniforms, shoes, socks, school bags and stationeries were given to these children comprising of kindergarten up to secondary school students.
A tailor was called upon to custom-make the uniforms according to individual sizes. This little extra touch was taken to ensure that each child gets to welcome their new school year happily like all the other children in school with a new set of comfortable school uniform and other school necessities.
