Vista, a boom to our economy?

ImageWith the recent launch of Microsoft's latest operating system to businesses, analysts at IDC has reported that Vista will actually be a boon to the tech industry providing more people with jobs and provide plenty of opportunities to Microsoft's business partners.

"If there's a surprising thing to people, it's how extensively a Microsoft piece of software ripples out through the ecosystem," said John Gantz, one of the IDC analysts who wrote the report. "Microsoft, as a software vendor, casts a bigger shadow than its revenues."

Read on to find out more.

Estimates from the report says that Vista will be a big hit within the tech industry providing over a hundred thousand new jobs. And just when we thought that the job market has now been saturated with IT graduates trying to find jobs, Vista might just be the solution.

Then again, right now in Malaysia, how fast would you think that the business community here would migrate over to Vista? Unless most multinational corporations migrate over to the new operating system, there still might be a delay before the majority of the businesses here do switch over.

yeah, Shell is doing the migration, and major big comapnies will follow suit. Even Petronas is moving into Microsoft based products fully.

Guess in a way, MS is winning back the biz market, coz thats where the money is

i think majority of the companies here won't be spending money on upgrading their PC (esp RAM and graphics cards) just to use Vista...

Normal office usage doesn't need all those fancy icons and visual effects in Vista. So i think it'll probably take at least 2 years for them to migrate to Vista...
