Sneak peek of P1's next-gen WiMAX modem / wireless AP

Ok, so this one doesn't exactly fall under the same category as the Mr. Blurycam spyshots that you'll get off Engadget since the folks at GreenPacket actually allowed us to take these photos, but it's sorta breaking news nonetheless since there's nothing official from them about it.

But enough rambling about the technicalities of this issue, because lo and behold, the above picture is indeed one of the latest gadgets to emerge from GreenPacket's R&D lab. Dubbed as a "personal hotspot generator", this dinky little device is the lovechild of a P1 WiMAX modem and a WiFi access point, and will give you access to P1's WiMAX network over WiFi. Think of it as a WiGGY with a built-in router, and you're on the right track.

Running on battery power, a full charge is said to last for 5 solid hours of use. No official comment as to when this device will be rolled out, nor on how much it'll cost tho, but it's definitely something that we'll be following closely.

Two more views of the device are available after the jump.

That doesn't look like Greenpacket's product. The sticker is very obviously pasted on. On the back of the product it's clearly written "Infomark". A quick google on this and it shows the product is called "Biscuit" from Infomark, not Greenpacket. thumbsdown
