Samsung's new Dual Sim card support phone

Have two lines but lugging two phones around too much of a hassle? Well Samsung has come up with a solution for you with their latest dual sim card enabled phone the SGH-D880. Users can activate both SIM cards simultaneously and effortlessly to receive calls and SMSes on either one. Connectivity is enhanced as the SGH-D880 user can be served by two networks at any one time. The perfect companion for multi SIM users such as frequent travelers and business professionals, the slider eliminates the need to carry multiple handsets.

The SGH-D880 is the second in Samsung’s Dual Standby or “2On” phone line-up. Samsung had earlier launched SGH-W579, its first “2On” phone which allows for a CDMA SIM card and a GSM SIM card to be in use concurrently. The SGH-D880 is Samsung’s first dual GSM SIM card “2On” offering.

The SGH-D880 has a 2.3” wide TFT display and plays music files in MP3, AAC+, WMA formats. The phone also comes with FM Radio and Bluetooth 2.0 functionalities as well as a 3 Mega-pixel camera with Auto Focus, and a CMOS sensor. The Samsung SGH-D880 has a recommended retail price of RM 1,799.00 and is now available in Malaysia.

Read on for more info and pictures.

The users like to have one handset with 2 or 3 simcard support.
They don't need to buy a lot of of handset for their simcards.sad-smiley

There's always the good, the bad and the ugly side to this sort of situation. The good side would be your friends can get in touch with you at ease. The bad side would be the high charge rates will applies. As for the ugly side of it would be your boss getting hold of you every minute by sternly nagging you about your unfinished job and how substantial it would impact your company laughing-smiley

Well, it's about time that the major phone manufacturers come out with a dual-sim card phone or even tri-sim card phone. It couldn't have been an impossible technology feat seeing that many China brands have managed to do that for quite some time.

Now, if only Nokia would come out with one with features comparable to what they have now.

I suspect however that they didn't come up with one was the possibility of losing sales.
